Plot

Mari Amachi is a new student at the Perfect Religion Academy. When her roommate Saori Minami is kidnapped by the Black Buddha gang, Buddha himself appears before Mari. He offers her the opportunity to become Gōtaman in order to save her friend. Mari accepts the proposal and becomes Gōtaman, a sumo-belt-clad hero who fights to protect freedom of religion. Thoughts

I think I spent more time laughing at the over-the-topness of this anime than I did watching it. This is definitely a 1996 ecchi anime, no doubt. This was almost on the level I’d say of a bad Hentai. All that being said it was a parody from what I understand so the over the top weirdness is alright.

The anime has almost everything in it. Action, Nudity (brief), Yuri, Evil Lord (sailor moon style), and religion destroying the world. It was missing some shonen-ai and mecha’s that is about it. It is a lot of fun to watch if you want to sit down have a good laugh with a classic anime. Though I warn you the plot line is week, but then that isn’t why you are watching it is it?

I definitely suggest people watch this for the shear fun that it is on a complete not serious level.
